The Saudi Pro League is the highest level of professional football in Saudi Arabia and is governed by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. Its modern national league structure dates to the Saudi Premier League introduced in 1976–77, with the competition adopting the Saudi Pro League name in 2008. The league currently features 18 clubs playing a double round-robin season, with each team playing 34 matches. Promotion and relegation connect the competition with the Saudi First Division League, with the bottom three teams relegated.
