Alan enjoys winding up his ex, Judith, who just increased his alimony burden by pretending that Charlie will get custody of Jake if they both die. However, both Charlie and mother Evelyn take objection to hearing his actual choice for custody of Jake are two responsible cousins - agricultural Professors in Rhode Island. When Jake hurts his head playing basketball, Charlie is alone and gets a terrifying taste of improvising without paternal experience.
