Joe White returns to Hawaii to escort a man who was infected with deadly strain of the avian flu. He calls Steve to accompany him. But while on route they are attacked and the patient is taken. Steve manages to kill one of them. They deduce that they took the man because they want to use the disease as a weapon. They learn the man is some kind of mercenary So they learn they need a scientist who could weaponize it and they find one who hasn’t been to work. They go to his house and some men shoot at them, they take them out and find the scientist’s wife tied up. They deduce they grabbed the scientist and used his wife as leverage. They later learn the men who were holding the wife work for a former spy.
